Dr Tarek Korban, DMD, MD, is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with extensive training in the broad scope of the speciality, including dentoalveolar and implant surgery, maxillofacial pathology, temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ) diseases, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, and facial cosmetic surgery.
Dr Korban strives to give his patients the best care possible, while educating and empowering them. His philosophy is that the patient-doctor relationship should be a team approach with the patient at the center.
He began his undergraduate education at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, then continued to Sherbrooke University before obtaining a Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Montreal, where he graduated with multiple awards, including the Pierre Fauchard Academy annual award for outstanding scholarship and clinical research.
Following this, he pursued his medical degree (MD) at the prestigious Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He then completed a General Surgery internship, and a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital.
He is published in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a member of the faculty at the Mount Sinai Hospital in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Otolaryngology, where he maintains hospital privileges and actively participates in resident education and training.
